I can only say that the news of Andrew's passing is absolutely devastating.

It is an incomparable loss.  He was a close personal friend of mine and have
so much to thank him for.  He believed in me when I was down and nurtured me
on the magical path and for that I am eternally grateful.

Andrew was an intensely personal man but for those who got close to him he
was a very kind and loving individual.

He was indeed a brilliant magician and I feel blessed to have worked with
him in that capacity.  He was also without any shade of doubt the most
erudite occultist I have met EVER.  His breadth of knowledge was quite
phenomenal.  His books demonstrate the mind of a powerful medium, whimsical
and truly creative he forged new pathways in the minds of initiates
worldwide.

On some issues of mystical complexity he was often the only person who had a
clue of what I was talking about!  So often a five minute planned telephone
call would morph into two hours...what a joy ..what a delight..what a
blessed inspiration our interaction was.

To know this will no longer occur on the incarnate plane is a bitter pill.

I feel deeply for his family and friends at this sad time as they mourn the
premature death of a man who was undoubtedly a true genius and wise sage.

Andrew may your sweet soul transit to the stars with peace.  You will be
greatly missed across this globe.

Also, as owner, compiler, designer and chief bottle washer of lashtal.com I can confidently state that this site is in no way "official" - whatever that really means in a Thelemic context. It is maintained by me alone. Just for the record, I am not currently a member of any magickal or Thelemic organisation. I am, though, in contact with senior members of most of the obvious Thelemic groups and have, without exception, been impressed with their courtesy, generosity and willingness to help.

lashtal.com is very much a "labour of love". I have studied Thelema and the works of Aleister Crowley for almost three decades. Not o-ne day of those nearly thirty years has passed without being enriched by both. Growing frustrated by the difficulty I experienced in locating information about Thelemic culture and, of course, Aleister Crowley in the media, this site arose from an assumption that others might feel the same. More than 107,000 page views since the end of September 2003 and about 20 emails a day suggests I was not mistaken.

I have no axe to grind, no enthusiasm for proselytizing - just a great admiration for the writings and artwork of Aleister Crowley, a fascination with his life and the lives of his followers, a love of the work of several creative individuals influenced by him (Jimmy Page, Kenneth Anger and early Psychic TV are obvious examples), and a deep love of - and respect for - the philosophy and religious/spiritual ideals of Thelema.
