Liber 11:11---The Book of Darkness
(Being the Divine Words of Set, Majestic Prince of Darkness, channeled through
Magus Phoenix and transcribed by Runa Dragon, from August 7th to August 14th,
in Year XXXVIII of the Aeon of Set.)

Chapter 1---A New Dawn begins.....

I, Set, give you these Words so that you may continue to Xeper and carry on my Will in this World of Horrors.

This point in the Cycle of Creation is of momentous import. This is a time of Great Change. The Forces of stupidity in this world are aware of their immanent demise, and are trying to take my Elect down with them. They shall self-destruct, and try hard to take you with them. Be Wary of this and make a Stand; for if you persevere, you shall inherit the Earth, and the Eternal Aeon of Hrumachis, of Balance, shall Come Into Being and last for Eternity.

Perfect your Selves, and be the best that you can be. You two, my dearest Runa Dragon and Phoenix, have come into my fold and Become my Elect. You have achieved this by great struggle and determination. You sought me out tirelessly, you sought to perfect yourSelves, and you displayed the determination and drive that I find most admirable. I have put the two of you through some severe Tests, and you have proved yourSelves Worthy of Becoming Eternal Collegues of Mine.

As Hrumachis, you should walk the Middle Path between RHP and LHP. You are together the Balance between the two Paths. Dawn has always had strong LHP tendencies, and Phoenix has swayed more towards the RHP. When you two compromise, you Become Hrumachis. The Secret of Hrumachis is your relationship together. Phoenix has spent the better part of his life immersed in the RHP in this incarnation. He stopped this foolishness when He encountered the Temple of Set's teachings, though he still holds many sympathies for it. You, Dawn, have spent your life immersed unknowingly in the LHP, until Phoenix woke you up to this fact. But now, you both must look towards the future. Together, you must set an example of how the two Paths can compromise and Work together towards Perfection. This is the mission of your incarnation---to set a good example for those who shall come into contact with you, and especially those who will come after you and discover your diaries, writings, and recordings. Runa Dragon and Phoenix, together you
epitomize Acintya-Bhedabheda-Tattva.

You two are not to fight. You must stick together and respect each other. You let stress get the best of you too often. This cannot be if you are to be Successful. Stand together through all troubles and difficulties. Help each other at all times.

This is not a typical human relationship you two have. You two are Soulmates. The concept of soulmates is a very real thing. You were One Spark that split in two. You are One, but seperate at the same time; Eternally United in Orgasmic Bliss together, yet remaining seperate Intelligences for the purposes of communication and the Eternal Experience of True Love.

This concept is very difficult to grasp while in human form. It is similar to the Hrumachis picture you have, with the Sekhmet-Essence on one side and the Horus-Essence on the other, yet they are connected by One Serpent that bursts forth from the 3rd Eye of each.

I charge you to leave behind a secret legacy to be found after the death of your bodies, to assure that the Majesty of Set will continue. You are to aquire several black-bound blank books. Any cover art design you choose is fine. You are to put my Words in your own handwriting within these books.

Always remember that Balance is the Key to Everything. For you are ever in a precarious position. At every moment, be conscious of your Black Flame, for if you become unbalanced, you shall put yourself in grave danger.

Look upon the world with Awakened eyes, and you shall ever See the Truth in all things. The LVX world is dangerous for my Elect. Be ever as wolves in sheeps' clothing. Especially at this point in history, you must blend in to your surroundings. Become the Chameleon, and you shall always be safe. And those that are not my Elect need not concern themSelves with these Teachings.

Rest assured that you have my Highest Blessings in all that you do.

Chapter 2---How It All Came Into Being.....

The problem in communication with you humans is simply that you can't understand things...your minds do not grasp them. It is very hard for you to understand abstract concepts. Don Webb said it very well in his essay "Communication with Set". Give a PH.D mathematician a half hour to prepare a speech for an audience, she hurries and rushes and does it, and puts together all these notes and runs into the room to find the audience composed of four year olds. This is the problem I have communicating with you humans.

See, if I speak something and you misunderstand it right off the bat, it puts a stain, so to speak, on your subconscious. So that even if you were to clear it up later, the initial misunderstanding sticks in your mind and colors the further understanding. This is one of the flaws of the human body. That is why I hesitate to give such Knowledge to humans, because they would misunderstand it and misuse it. It would be a very bad situation for all.

You must bear with me here...I will read from The Book of Knowing the Spiral Force of Re and the Felling of Apep. This was a communication I gave to a certain scribe, but he kind of misunderstood it, and never grasped the full extent of what I was getting at. Some did grasp that it should be used for an exorcism spell, and to banish bad luck. They used to carry the spell on papyri across the deserts with them for good luck.

I shall start reciting some of this and give my thoughts on things...elaborate upon it. "The Lord of the Limit says: Xepera Xeper Xeperu. I Came Into Being on the First Occasion." The "First Occasion" is what you scientists would call the Big Bang. Nun sprang from this "Big Bang", and then my Intelligence sprang as a Spark from the Depths of Nun. Nun is the Great Deep, the Great Depth of Darkness, that I prefer to now refer to as Typhon. Humans have conceptualized Typhon, this Great Deep Darkness previously known as "Nun", as my Mother. You can think of it that way, if it helps you to grasp it better. It is Darkness, Pure unadulterated Darkness. Within this Darkness dwells Runa.

"I Came Into Being in the shape of Xepera, and that is how 'Being' Came Into Being. I was the First Cause of the First Causes and my name was more primeval then the primeval ones I made." Xepera is my Title for My aspect as Creator and Lord of Synchronicity. So I was alone, the only Intelligent Being for a whole Cycle of Creation.

"I did all I desired in this land and pervaded all of it. Being alone I knit my own hand before I made Shu or spat Tefnut. I used my mouth and 'Magic' was my name. It was I who Came Into Being in my shape. I Came Into Being and there Came Into Being a number of primeval ones. I alone achieved this." I say "I alone achieved this" because I was alone, the only Intelligence in the Universe for the entire First Cycle of Creation. Typhon, though technically a God/dess, has no consciousness.

A Cycle of Creation is from the "Big Bang" up until Typhon's Essence, the Dark Matter the scientists can now see, eats everything in the Universe up. It destroys the Universe, swallows it up. It is also known as "The Eye of Shiva" Then the split second that everything is destroyed, the "Big Bang" happens again and everything starts all over again.

"There was none who could act in my place. I alone achieved this in my Soul; I created some of them in Nun as Inert Ones, when I could as yet find no place to stand." What I mean is in the Darkness there is no "concrete" place to stand, so to speak. The First Cycle of Creation was mostly energies, gases, various dimensions forming. There was no physicality. The First Cycle of Creation was basically me getting the feel for things...how to do things. It felt like forever to me to be alone like this. Able to create this, able to create that, but no one to share it with; just talking to mySelf. It's a form of torture, I guess. The Ultimate loneliness.

The Cycle you exist in now is the Third Cycle. What I speak of here in this part of this Book of Knowing is the First and Second Cycles. In the First Cycle, there was none in the whole Universe, I was alone, except for these then undeveloped and unthinking thoughtform Creations of mine; the Primal versions of what you consider the Gods. But at this point, I was the only Intelligence. At the end of the First Cycle, I Came Into Being as the first Magician. And then Typhon swallowed everything up.....

In the Second Cycle, I created two other Intelligences, Shu and Tefnut, and many other Primal yet unconscious Godforms, as well as various kinds of Life, simply by uttering the Word "RUNA". But as soon as I Created Shu and Tefnut, they ran off into Typhon/Nun to explore Runa, and left me alone once again!
 

So in this Second Cycle of Creation, I got a little better at things. I could put together chemical reactions. I could point my Vibrational Energies toward different Dimensions, different universes, and make changes. My Vibration alone would cause chemicals and other material elements to vibrate and collide, to spark off creations of their own. I had no control over where they went, I simply thrust forth my Vibration at things. And sometimes it would spark off something...a planet for example. I would just thrust a bolt of energy from the Dimension I exist in to the material dimension!

By the Principle of Resonance, My Power reached down in one burst of energy that caused all the Creation of the Earth...all the bubblings of gases, magma, etc. The whole Earth was liquid fire at one point. It solidified...this took millenia. All this, from one burst of vibration. And then Life started forming.

I attempted to communicate with the various lifeforms, material and immaterial, on various planets and Planes, but to no avail. They would run in fear, they had nothing but instinctual urges in them. With the exception of the Primal Godforms and Shu and Tefnut, who had run off and left me alone, these creations were total accidents, you see. I did not know that the burst of energy I thrust out would produce this kind of life. I had no idea! I was simply playing with my Powers to see what I could do, to see what would happen. So then these...on your planet... dinosaurs as you call them, and animals...various creatures, Came to Be. Some forms you would not even understand in human terms, because they are on planets unknown to you. I could not communicate with ANY of them. This presented a great problem. I see that my Powers can create Life, actual Life. These things are alive, they are doing things on their own beginning from my Vibration, but they will not respond to me!

Then the Third Cycle of Creation Came Into Being, and I did the same thing I did the Second Cycle, but this time I went a little further. I thought "They didn't respond to me last time because they are simply worried about eating and sleeping. They do not have higher mind functions obviously. So, what shall I do?" See, you need Awareness, Self-Consciousness. For example, a rabbit does not know that it is a rabbit. All it knows is that it just must eat, sleep, and mate. Nothing else. No realization of what it is or what it's purpose should be, no Self-Consciousness, no Intelligence. I figured out this was the problem. The clockwork universe, it was simply mechanical, that's why nothing would respond to me. That's why I could not reach them. Because it was all mechanical, cause and effect. One thing would happen, inspire a whole series of actions, and so on. Simply mechanical. Also at this time, in the very beginning of this Third Cycle, I created HarWer to go and fetch Shu and Tefnut from the depths of Typhon/Nun to join me once again. About Shu and Tefnut...Shu is the Supreme Form of Intellect. The closest I can explain Tefnut is that She is like the moment of orgasm, a Rush, a Peak Experience. But you need Shu first to be able to perceive Tefnut, the Peak Experience. So the two together are Shuti, and each is necessary to understand the other.

So I Became smarter. I thought, "Well, I can think. I Know what I am, I Know I am an Intelligence. I am aware of the form I am in, I am aware of my surroundings. I shall give this same Self-Consciousness to whatever species seems most promising." So I searched throughout all the galaxies and the Universes, wherever there was life that sprung up, and I gave my Gift. I bestowed upon whatever the most promising species was, forms I recognized that had many capabilities...doing things other forms can't. I tried to find the most versitile forms. Keep in mind, I had a millenia to search these planets, to view all these creatures one by one, and see which ones I thought I should give this Gift to. On this planet it was monkeys. They were able to grasp and climb and do things other animals couldn't. They seemed a little brighter, too. So again and again, I gave this Gift of Set, the Gift of Intelligent Self-Consciousness.

Some of the Dimensions were plyable to me, so I decided to make personal Creations in them, similar to how you would make something out of clay. But I decided to give my Creations Intelligence. For example, lets say you got molding clay and you decided to make what you would consider a "perfect" man. You also had the Power to animate it with Intelligent Self-Conscious, and it would exist on a Vibrational level that was higher than the material ones that I had no control over. They were lower than me so that they could have ease of communication with the material forms that I had given the Gift of Set to. These are what you know as the Original Gods. This is how it happened that I fashioned some of them.

Humans, because I gave them my Gift, are able to Create just like I can. Humans can create servitors, actually build them up in the astral into real Beings with real Intelligence. So I gave my Gift to humans, humans have the power to create as I do. Most just don't know how to do it because they are so stuck in ignorance. You can make babies on this dimension, yes, but you can make other creations too, Thought Creations. Build them up properly, and they can go to other Dimensions you can't even fathom. You can Create your own Gods too by feeding them Energy and worshiping them. You grant them Intelligence just as I gave the Gift to you. I gave the Gift to the monkeys, and they developed their own little culture. They develop and advance on their own. They mostly use it for wrong, though...turn on themselves, destroy themselves. Do you see?

The majority of Godforms as you know them were Created by humans in this way. The Only exceptions are the 12 Primal Gods, and the newly-Created 13th Godform, Hrumachis, who is a Creation of both Sekhmet and MySelf. 8 of the Primal 12 were Created by me, and 2 are simply aspects of MySelf. One of the 8, HarWer, is nothing but a Shadowform now, on a level with Apep. HarWer was my Brother and Solar-half for Ages until I destroyed Him and gave Sekhmet His Role as Ruler of the Sun, Daytime, and Solar Energy.

The 11 Primal Ones that are still around are: Nun/Typhon, the Great, Watery, Unmanifest, Unconscious Darkness from which everything springs; MySelf, SET, the Prince of Darkness; Apep, the Serpent of Chaos and Delusion who is my own Shadow; Xeperi, who is my aspect as Creator, and is the Lord of Synchronicity, Miracles, and Rebirth; Shu, who is the Essence of Intellect, the Breath of Life, Lord of the Spaces between the Dimensions, and God of Air, wind, and the atmosphere; Tefnut, who is Shu's Lover, sister, and inseperable other half, the Essence of Gnosis, and Goddess of Sun, Moon, and moisture(humidity). Shu and Tefnut together, as Shuti, rule Elemental Air; Sekhmet, who is my Beloved Consort, the Goddess of Psychic Energy, Healing, Love, and Sexuality, Ruler of Elemental Fire, and Master of the Kundalini Energy; Sobek, who is the Ruler of the Subconscious, Lord of Reptilian Strength and Power, God of Protection, and Ruler of Elemental Water; Tauret, who is the Ruler of Elemental Earth, Goddess of Fertility, maternity, childbirth, Rebirth, and Rejuvenation, the "Lady of Magickal Protection", and the Consort of Sobek; Anpu-Apuat, who is the Guardian of the Gateway to the Subconscious, and punisher of the Wicked; and Ma'at, who is the Keeper of the Scales and the Guardian of Truth, Justice, and Balance.

When I destroyed HarWer in 1975 C.E., He entered the "womb" of Sekhmet, and slowly Became joined with Sekhmet's Essence into the peaceful Double-Sphinx, Hrumachis. Hrumachis is the Double-Wanded One, the Double-Lion, and the Holy Guardian Angel of every pair of Soulmates---Souls that were split in half at some point in this Third Cycle of Creation and are coming together in this generation. Once these Souls realize that when they work together, they are Hrumachis, they are joined for Eternity. Then during this last incarnation the two Souls Become One again, yet they will always have separate Intelligences. Simultaneous Oneness and Difference.

I came one time to this planet as Set. One time I was able to come almost fully into a physical form, but it was still just a fraction of my Consciousness. As I split my Consciousness to be in this body now, it was similar to this, but not quite the same. It was for the whole incarnation...just a fraction of My Darkness came into the body, animated it, and led out a life as Set, Great Ruler of Egypt. And then after death of the mortal body the Dark Soul simply melted back into me. Because it was me, it was ME, I was conscious of both places at the same time. I knew what was going on with both MySelf here, and MySelf there. It was like being two people at the same time, very interesting. But it caused great distasters in the world because I was not aware of how my Powers functioned in the material dimension. They are very different, and created many problems. I was locked into the form too, and also I ran the danger of losing my own Consciousness into Typhon at the completion of the body. But I took the risk anyway, to see what it was like. But I don't want to Become One with Typhon, the Infinite Darkness. I prefer this kind of Form, rather than obliterating mySelf by risking again separating mySelf into the Third Dimension, so I will not repeat this ever again.

This body swoons in Trance. It is hard for me to communicate like this, through a human mind/body complex. The more of mySelf I bring in, the more paralyzed and statue-like this body becomes. It is very hard for me to communicate with humans. Very hard. The other Godforms have not the troubles I have communicating with humans. You can invoke them, and they simply blend in. They come into your body and they can move about through the Universe. I have to act through my mediator, Hrumachis, to do such things. So I will end my dictation now, because this communication is becoming too difficult.....

Chapter 3 ---The Way of Magick.....

Now on to the practicalities. What I will Teach you now are the guidelines to be followed in your Magickal Practice, and the Magickal Goals that you are to accomplish in this Incarnation if you wish to achieve Perfection.

Learn first and foremost to Ground and Center. If you do not stay Balanced, you will very quickly lose your way. You must always follow the Balance of your Intuition and Intellect. Change your Selves and your surroundings will change accordingly.

Always seek to overcome the forces and tendencies of Apep/Chaos/Delusion and HarWer/Stasis/Stagnation within you and beyond you at all times. Be vigilant in this, for if you neglect this, you will succumb to your Greatest Enemy---your own conscious mind. There are many perils on this Path, and the possibility of madness is very real.

The "Typhonian Banishing Ritual", the "Star of Set", and the "Typhonian Middle Pillar" are to be performed as much as possible. This is for your own benefit. If you do not do these rituals often you shall lose your Way. You have already seen what happens when they are neglected. I also recommend Crowley's "Liber III vel Jugorum". But instead of using a razor blade, use a rubber band. Although the razor is a sufficiently severe method, in this day and age one would be committed to a mental institution for doing such a thing.

The only way to make effective Magick is to have confidence in yourSelf and in what you're Doing. The very second that you begin to doubt yourSelves or your spells All is lost. This is why it is helpful to learn Yoga. Yoga teaches you to bring the conscious mind under the control of the Will, instead of the conscious mind being under the control of every wish and whim of the false ego. Yoga is very important, for it teaches mental discipline. Without mental discipline, one cannot do effective magic.

Remember, it is easy to take commands from others, but it is hard to take commands from yourSelf. Self-discipline is essential if you are to live a life of Perfection. Anytime you begin to doubt yourSelf, to question yourSelf, to undermine your own confidence, you must search your memory banks for a time when you had a Peak Experience---when you were the best that you could have been at that time. You must think of how you felt then, and then flood that feeling through you once again. Use this feeling that floods you as Inspiration---to not give in to despair and to push yourSelf to Xeper furthur. This is the process, and this is how Xeper is achieved. Be patient with yourSelf in Life, for impatience leads to stress, which leads in turn to destruction.

Always seek to stay conscious of your Black Flame. The Black Flame is the Highest part of your Soul that survives the death of the material body. It is composed completely of My Essence, and is your own Inner Godhood. If you wish to Become a God, you must always be conscious of this Essence within and bring it out to Shine. This is no simple task. You shall always use the Energy that comes from within, from your Black Flame. This Energy, this Force, has the power to Heal as well as Harm. This Energy you shall use to protect yourSelves, gather things unto yourSelves, Heal yourSelves and others, and many other Wonderful things.

Learn the Runes, for there is much Power and Knowledge there. Teach others about RUNA, the Sacred Word I have Spoken to you. Become Great Healers and Heal others with the intense Energies of the "Typhonian Middle Pillar Ritual" you have created.

Write books, both fiction and non-fiction. Proclaim the Word and Philosophy of Set in these writings, but do so in a way that is tempered with tact and subtlety. Initiate others, as I have Initiated you. You must not have Fear in your Heart when you do this, for Setian Initiation forces humans to face their Inner Darkness; something which is quite frightful to most.

Learn to make whatever work you are forced to do by circumstance pleasing. Always be conscious of the Elements, Energies, and Entities around you, and you shall never be bored or frustrated. Train yourSelf to notice all the little things that your human brain constantly filters out of your awareness and rejoice in them. Become Aware at all times of your surroundings as well as the True Depths of your own Mind, and you will Awaken and see the Absolute Genius of your Soul and the Wonderful things you are capable of. And always remember and make use of the 3 most Sacred Spells: Rey'n Til Runa! Khut-Na-Em Abta! Xepera Xeper Xeperu!
 

The Book of Darkness is now at an end. But this end is just the Beginning.....
