Liber Cathuria is astral temple working based on the work of
Prophet of Cthulhu H P Lovecraft.
Description of the temple is found in the poem The White Ship.
Cathuria lies beyond the land of Sona-Nyl:
In the Land of Sona-Nyl there is
neither time nor space, neither suffering nor death; and there I dwelt
for many aeons. Green are the groves and pastures, bright and fragrant
the flowers, blue and musical the streams, clear and cool the
fountains, and stately and gorgeous the temples, castles, and cities of
Sona-Nyl.
The land of Sona-Nyl is beyond the laws of time and space.
Sona-Nyl is aeternal and unborn.
All that enter the temple shall be known as templars of the Fraternitas
Templi Cathuria.
Sigils of the FTC are composed of a Tau, a Fe and a Crescent.
The astral temple of Cathuria is opened to all fratres and sorors; yet
the warning of the Prophet says:
... for Sona-Nyl is known of men,
while none hath ever beheld Cathuria.
The temple should be approached on the 23. of each month as to
coordinate with the global workings of
Multitude of Chaoorders of Dagon.
By reading trough the „The White Ship“ come the instructions on
reaching the far land of Cathuria.
“Cathuria,” I would say to myself, “is
the abode of Gods and the land of unnumbered cities of gold. Its forests are of aloe and
sandalwood, even as the fragrant groves of Camorin, and among the trees flutter gay birds
sweet with song.
*note: such is the nature of the astral working; that when first
visiting the Cathuria, Frater Pantherion was unaware of it's forrests
or animals; seeing only the green grassy hills.
The acolyte should assume hirs stellar body and board the white ship.
Let it steer towards the coast of Cathuria:
On the green and flowery mountains of
Cathuria stand temples of pink marble, rich with carven and painted glories, and having in their courtyards cool
fountains of silver, where purr with ravishing music the
scented waters that come from the grotto-born river Narg. And the cities of Cathuria are
cinctured with golden walls, and their pavements also are of gold.
*note: Frater Pantherion did not encounter the guards of the city; nor
the closed gates.
Inhabitants of the Cathuria remain unseen; yet some are overheard
and recognized by their cheerful tones.
Once landing the Cathuria abode the acolyte should find hirs way to the
city:
In the gardens of these cities are
strange orchids, and perfumed lakes whose beds are of
coral and amber. At night the streets and the gardens
are lit with gay lanthorns fashioned from the three-colored shell of the
tortoise, and here resound the soft notes of the
singer and the lutanist. And the houses of the cities of
Cathuria are all palaces, each built over a fragrant canal
bearing the waters of the sacred Narg. Of marble and porphyry are the houses, and roofed with glittering gold that
reflects the rays of the sun and enhances the splendor of the cities as blissful Gods view
them from the distant peaks.
*note: the many wonders of the city of Cathuria could lure the acolyte
away.
The intent to visit the main temple should be firmly established.
The temple of Cathuria is mounted upon the main pallace of the city.
*note: Frater Pantherion often finds that the top of the pallace
resembles the Blue Mosque.
Fairest of all is the palace of the
great monarch Dorieb, whom some say to be a demi-God and others a God.
High is the palace of Dorieb, and many are the turrets of marble upon
its walls. In its wide halls many multitudes assemble, and here hang
the trophies of the ages. And the roof is of pure gold, set upon tall
pillars of ruby and azure, and having such carven figures of Gods and
heroes that he who looks up to those heights seems to gaze upon the
living Olympus. And the floor of the palace is of glass, under which
flow the cunningly lighted waters of the Narg, gay with gaudy fish not
known beyond the bounds of lovely Cathuria.
Upon entering the main temple the acolyte is free to perform chosen
rituals of devotion, divination or other magical operations.
*note: Cathuria temple working can be performed in concord with various
other workings;
such as Liber Resh or Liber Hecate.
Liber Resh adoration are performed thus:
Turning towards the eastern opening of the pallace wall; acolyte greets
the dawning Sun.
Turning to the south; the high noon Sun.
Turning to the west; the setting Sun.
Finally, turning to the north; the midnight black Sun.
As Cathuria is beyond linear time; all four adorations can be performed
at once.
The banishing found in the Liber Sigil IAF also works very well.
After closing the temple; one could find once again that the
Prophet's warning is true:
Thus would I speak to myself of
Cathuria, but ever would the bearded man warn me to turn back to the
happy shore of Sona-Nyl; for Sona-Nyl is known of men, while none hath
ever beheld Cathuria.
