Upon the crest of Mt Meru
A mighty Ling was set & placed
And so all consciousness spun about the Point
Of Time and Space- creation settled
Order, rippled
Light infused the waters
And so -1008 Lingas of stone
Are placed in the milky river
Of chaos
To rememberrememberremember-
And soon the waters
Run clear
With the kalas of the sun and moon
And the Fire uniting them-
And every person is a point
Every linga an egg, a center, a crown
And all else is shakti, carved of stone
Of sunlight
Leaf and laughter
Offerings
Amassing upon the great stone linga
of OM
As a maelstrom of
Gold and white butterflies.
Every drop of water
Is blessed by Shiva
Every ripple across the Lingas
Amrita pouring
From the River of Stars
Everything
Around this mountain is blessed
And the Blessing of Shiva flows
Ripples
Water-falls down the Mountain
And across the Earth
And covers every atom of Matter
With the Energy of the New Life
And the jungle laughs
And the stones sing
And the center is always
A fountain

Phnom Kulen
This is where the 500-year long Age of Angkor began. Phnom Kulen is the
mountain on which Jayavarman II initiated a royal 'god of the King'
linga cult in 602AD, declaring a unified and independent Cambodia under
a single ruler. Soon after, he moved his capital from Kulen to Roluos
where it was to remain for almost a century before moving to the Angkor
area. Several sites including many of lingam stand in the Siem
Reap River.
