THE MAGICK THINGIE

Ok, Sonnie, this is the writing about ze magick, i’m basing it on ideas by RAW, Morrison, Crowley, Louv and some other guys
 (but mostly i’m basing it on experience)

Basically it goes like this

•    Magick is Reality Manipulation, just that(think about Crowley’s definition, it’s the same thing)

•    Reality can be divided into ten different states (think Qabalah or superstring theory)

•    A Magickian is someone who can impose his/her will and change reality on any of these 10 states

•    Magick needs a gameboard in order to know: what is the goal? Where do I start? How do I play? etc…. I will use the Tree of Life as the Gameboard

•    Let’s look at a “proven” fact. The five senses receive 16.000.000 million bytes of information per second but our brain only processes 11 bits, that means we only “see” 0.000145% of reality, the rest if cut down. When we go up on the gameboard we start perceiving more and more data.

•    So, this gameboard has 11 squares interconnected by 22 routes. For the moment being let’s look at the 11 squares (you start at square 10)

10: Physical world
9: Mental world
8: Intellectual world
7: Emotional world
6: Conscious world
5: Moral World
4: Memory World
- :  Reason World
3: Mystic World
2: Magic World
1: Beingness World

•    There are two goals or “safe spots”. The first one is Square 6, when you get there you obtain these thing called “Knowledge or Conversation with your Holy Guardian Angel”. I like to call it  Awakening. The second Goal is crossing over the – Square (Reason World) and living to tell about it, this is called “Crossing the Abyss” but I will call it Liberation.

•    For the time being we’ll focus on getting to Square 6. In order to go from Square to Square you need to gain the ability to create changes at will inside that Square, I will give you the main examples:

10: Physical world : Do you know how your five senses work? Do you? Really?....Could you obtain 500 bucks if you wanted to? Can you change you physical appearance at will? How would you feel about it?(Sensory world, also connected with things like body maintainment)

9: Mental world: Can you control your thoughts and meditate for real? Can you charge a sigil and make it come true? Can you heal someone with magick skillz? Can you put on a robe and chant things like a madman? We are trying to break your ideas about what is possible and what isn’t, it’s ok if you want to do crazy things, I think…

8: Intellectual world: How do you arrange your internal symbols and logic processes? Do you understand mathematics? If not, try picking a math book and see why not. Can you read a philosophical book and understand it? Try Kant or Hume.

7: Emotional world: Are you really expressing all the emotions that you feel inside? Can you control these emotions when they appear? (for example: are you really aware of what’s going on during a fit of rage or sadness?) Will is the weapon here but will can be struck down by morality. Do you know the difference between thics and morality? I thought so… you need lots to learn

These are just some of the examples I could think of.

•    All of these squares have something we call “taboos” or “conditioning”. These are imaginary limits or restrictions that humans create in order to fuck themselves up. Don’t take me wrong, every culture has different taboos or conditioning processes and most of them maintain a sense of order or sanity, the real problem is when we forget that these limits are only imaginary and we start taking them as “real”. Try to find out what these are and well, try to bend them a little. One of the fastest methods I can think of is merging with things that you hate. Don’t think about it, DO IT. Experience is the only teacher here.

•    Eventually you will come to a point where you can change reality moderately from Square 10 to Square 7.(Don’t try to fool yourself saying “oh, I already had those squares covered from the start”). You can always improve them, always. Most people have problems with Squares 7 and 10. So, take a look at yourself, a sincere look, and start DOING things.

•    Magickians (that is, geeky people who use wands and stuff and think they’re better than the average joe) use the following techniques in order to improve themselves

1.    Magical Diary : A record is always useful, memory tends to cheat
2.    Dream Diary : a good way of teaching your subconscious to be more obedient and also a good way of learning about your conditioning (dream symbols are often hints about that)
3.    Meditation Technique : shutting down thought processes while observing how it happens
4.    Banishing Technique: Magick is all about banishing bad things and bringing good things (see Illuminatus : Appendix Lamed)
5.    Sigil Technique: Learn to create symbols that express your will and learn to charge them (no, an orgasm is not enough)
6.    Oracle: Understand that reality is actually a hologram and even a grain of sand contains the whole Reality.
7.    A map: A tree of life, 8 circuits, buddhist mind states,lilly’s map, find your way in/out


•    And then you go and work with all these things you have in mind until magically you arrive at Square 6, but how does that happen? I’ll give you some clues

10: Physical world : How can you show me* that you have a body and that you control it? What about the five senses?

9: Mental world: How can you show me that you control your mind?

8: Intellectual world : How can you show me that you have intellect?

7: Emotional world: How can you show me that you control your emotions?

6. Conscious world: How can you show me that you have consciousness?

*me = yourself

If you answer that then you’re in. Answering it can take some time and some people need to go back some squares in order to solve it. The answer (if you find one) is something that comes from experience and many people find it during an extremely altered state of consciousness (drugs, recovering from severe depression, kundalini experiences, deep meditation states). But trust me, you’ll know when the answer arrives.

(I didn’t cover the paths between the squares but their meaning is left for you to decide. Each path is classified under a Tarot Card. Moon Card (illusions, fears) is located between Physical and Emotional world. If you want to try it out then just add,
