Atu XVI-The Devil
(written after reading Liber A'ash and meditation upon Atu XVI )
It is you who truly created us
Through seed rectified
in the crucible of a drunken, wanton whore
Though the ignorant laugh and call
you horrible names
but their folly is great
you are no sheep
that bleats
Oh, my god impale
upon your mighty horns
make them bleed and fill
the cup for communion
but woe to thee that drink from it
how awful a combination
is the blood of saints and fools
tell me--is there a difference?
you are the lord of creation
manifestation-great leaper upon
hills and over streams
wisdom ancient beyond time
lies within your center eye
those who worship you are fools
those who deny you
worse yet
a cold distant planet rules
your time
for though scapegoat to some
to me you are the true savior
of mankind-liberator
and within your flames burn
knowledge and the
spark of creativity
without which we could never
climb the tree
or descend the wondrous depths beneath
you are beauty and splendor
and without you
BABALON would know no beast
the magician a hanged man
your eye is that of the universe
and blessed are those who see
and cursed are the wretched blind
who walk in ignorance
of what they might discover
if they looked into the
heart of the beast
who bears the crown of Cain
call out to the lord of matter
he who takes air mixing it with water
and bathing it in fire
stealer of secrets
and usurper of power
serpent slithering into Eve
Oh Pan, On Devil, Oh Hadit
Destroy the destroyer
and set your children free

Atu VI-The Lovers
(Written after reading Liber LXV cap. II & meditating upon Atu VI)
In vastness of space
shines a single star
for the fleet footed
mercury to leap across
pulling together to unify
two faces of our existence
separate yet connected
placed side by side
wedding the hermit and his veiled bride
as the fool he lept
as magician he tricked
as emporer he ruled
as hierophant he prayed
so she too took roles
to play
as priestess she invoked
as empress she created
as justice with sword
she separated
now she is the hidden bride
a black queen to the white king
riding upon the wings of a great red eagle
descending great heights to deliver her
at the gates of the temple
where once she lived
resplendent in her pale yellow gown
shining like gold against
the indigo sky
in her hand a jade cup
engraved with raven
perched atop skull
in the distance
a great roar is heard
like that of a wild beast
and arriving it does from the east
a great lion of white
his mane aflame
upon his back is the king in black
covered with scarlet robe
descending his mount he strides forth
to his bride
clutching in his hands a coiled serpent
entwined about a large brass egg
reaching they clasp
and arm in arm
into the temple lead

Atu XI-Lust
(Written after reading Liber Stellae Rubeae & meditating upon Atu
XI)
Oh wanton mistress
of the crimson dawn
wrap your hair
in flaming tendrils around me
consume the serpent
and like a charmer of snakes
draw forth its venom
oh creatress who legs spread wide
on the crevice of the abyss
become drunk upon its venom
secret seed stolen
for your pleasure
open wider still your cup of abominations
and let me, like a great lion
with tongues of flickering flame
lap up its contents
and strike like a cobra
deep into your essence
spiraling through you
in waves of debauchery
in ebb and flow
before shooting beyond
your body and surrounding
you in a fountain of swirling colors
which fade to black
before emenating in rays of icy silver
flecked with spectral blue
