traditionally a Hindu concept, the deified Kundalini creative/sexual
energy which is coiled at the base of the spine and ascends to the
crown of the head when active. Here Her source (She
is seen as a feminine force in both Hindu and Egyptian pantheons-
Shakti or Sekhem) is revealed in Ancient Egypt- the same fireserpent
which is seen as the Uraeus cobra on the headdresses of pharaohs and/as
Gods, leaping from their Ajna (third eye) chakra. The Egyptian
deification of this serpent leaping from the brow is Sekhmet,
lioness-headed Goddess of force and fire. Cow-headed Hathor is the less
fierce aspect of the same basic energy, when this fire is directed into
pleasure (sex, dance) rather than rage (although Sekhmet also has a
-fiercer- sexual aspect). In Her mythology the Power (Sekhem) of
Sekhmet is ‘righteous’ because She destroys evil, but here it is
suggested that this force and fire goes beyond morality, simply
destroying everything that is in its way, so that it may go where it
needs to go. On a personal level
(spinefire mindfire), this ascent of kundalini may indeed be severe and
even violent as it unblocks karmic or energetic knots in the body, but
ultimately bliss will result when the freed fireserpent reaches
the ajna or crown. Her shaking apart of the personal World perspective
or paradigm allows a new and wider perception to be born. On a collective or
Gaian level (Earthfire Solfire) it is hoped the current shaking of ‘the
World Apart’ will also herald some new bliss eventually…

‘Millions of years’ is a
phrase often used in Ancient Egyptian texts (eg. The Boat of a Million
Years on which Ra travels through the heavens each day) and seems to
suggest forever. That She
is ‘still worshipped now’ brings in a suggestion of Durga (still
worshipped by billions of Hindus daily)- elucidated further in later
verses of this chapter- as a parallel Hindu myth, for Durga was created
‘By the other Gods’ like Sekhmet who ‘leaps forth from Ra’s brow’ in
much the same way as Kali leapt from Durga’s third eye for the same
purpose- the destruction of a humanity gone rampant with violence
and ignorance. The exposition in subsequent verses of the biblical and
Thelemic Babalon in relation to these myths is also first intimated
here with the use of the terms Revelation and Apocalypse, which are
actually linguistically akin- An apocalypse being a revelation of
perceptual awakening.

turning The Power of
the Kundalini fire is elucidated, unstoppable and unbridled. This
Shakti/Sekhem fire burns but does not blacken as it climbs the spine
(or staff- the serpent-twined Caduceus is parallel with the human
energetic-anatomy). Only ‘the Holy Androgyne’ may unleash
Kundalini in its fullness, for a power such as this may only be
harnessed by the balanced individual who is attuned with his or her
anima or animus, the opposite gender within. Thus ‘Men
(gender-specific, non-androgynous) cannot contain me’.
One of the most
potent means of both attaining spiritual androgyny and raising and
maintaining kundalini for a male is to learn how to achieve
non-ejaculatory orgasm - ‘Retaining the seed inward turning’ –thus
becoming like a woman who also takes the seed within (and with
practice, up). Thus the implications for a female are rather more
easily achieved, although this is only a practical method which will
not necessarily parallel spiritual progress or androgynous
enlightenment.
