Priestess: Come forth, O children under the stars, and take your fill of love! I am above you and in you. My ecstasy is yours. My joy is
to see your joy.

High Priest (reads): Obverse of Stele of Ankh -af -na -Khonsu:

              Above the gemmed azure is
                                    The naked splendour of Nuit;
She bends in ecstasy to kiss
                                   The secret ardours of Hadit.
The winged globe, the starry blue
                                   Are mine, o Ankh-f-n-Khonsu.

I am the Lord of Thebes, and I
                                  The inspired forth-speaker of Mentu;
For me unveils the veiled sky,
                                     The self-slain Ankh-f-n-Khonsu.
Whose words are truth. I invoke, I greet
                                  Thy presence, o Ra-Hoor-Khuit!

                                      Unity uttermost showed!
I adore the might of thy breath,
                                     Supreme and terrible God,
Who makest the gods and death
                                     To tremble before Thee:-
                                         I, I adore thee!

Appear on the throne of Ra!
Open the ways of the Khu!
Lighten the ways of the Ka!
The ways of the Khabs run through
To stir me or still me!
                                      Aum! Let it kill me!

The Light is mine; its rays consume
Me: I have made a secret door
into the House of Ra and Tum,
                                    Of Khephra, and of Ahathoor.
I am thy Theban, o Mentu,
                                  The prophet Ankh-f-n-Khonsu!

                                By Bes-na-Maut my breast I beat;
By wise Ta-Nech I weave my spell.
                                Show thy star-splendour, O Nuith!
Bid me within thine House to dwell,
                                  winged snake of light, Hadith!
                                  Abide with me, Ra-Hoor-Khuit!

Priest  reads Reverse of  Stele of Ankh -af -na -Khonsu:

Saith of Mentu the truth-telling brother
who was master of Thebes from his birth:
heart of me, heart of my mother!
O heart which I had upon earth!
Stand not thou up against me a witness!
Oppose me not, judge, in my quest!
Accuse me not now of unfitness
Before the Great God, the dread Lord of the West!
For I fastened the one to the other
With a spell for their mystical girth,
The earth and the wonderful West,
When I flourished, o earth, on thy breast!

                                  The dead man Ankh-f-n-Khonsu
Saith with his voice of truth and calm:
                                 O thou that hast a single arm1
O thou that glitterest in the moon!
                              I weave thee in the spinning charm;
I lure thee with the billowy tune.

                                  The dead man Ankh-f-n-Khonsu
Hath parted from the darkling crowds,
Hath joined the dwellers of the light,
                                 Opening Duant, the star-abodes,
                                      Their keys receiving.
                                  The dead man Ankh-f-n-Khonsu
Hath made his passage into night,
His pleasure on the earth to do
                                        Amoung the living

High Priestess (sings): Hymn to Khonsu:

Hail unto thee, O Messenger of the Gods!
Khonsu, the traveler of the night sky,
Who traveleth through the heaven like Thoth.
  Mut -Bast is thy mother
And Amen -Ra -Temu -Kephra -Khuti is thy father,
 Thou makest women fruitful,
And makest the human germ to grow
 in thy mothers womb.

Thou art the moon, the light -bearer,
The moon by night, and the lord of Maat.

Thou art the mighty fiery bull of the new moon.
Oh Khonsu, thou art also Khonsu the slaughterer
Who cuts the throats of his enemies and draws out their intestines.

Thou art great and mighty oh moon -god,
Khonsu, messenger of the Great Gods,
Traveler of the night sky in the form of the Moon.

Thy name shall live forever in the hearts
And on the tongues of all true men.

Thou art Khonsu -Nefer -Hetep, Horus,
Lord of Joy of heart of the Apts.

Thou art Khonsu -Tehuti, the twice great.
The Lord of Khemmenu and Behutet.

Thou art Khonsu -Ra and Khonsu -Shu of Thebes.

Thou art Khonsu -Pa -Khart, Khonsu the Babe,
Thou art Khonsu -Hennu, Khonsu the Child.

As Khonsu -Pa -Khart thou shinest as a crescent moon,
and causeth the women to bear,
And cattle to be fertile, the germ to grow in the egg,
and all nostrils and throats to be filled with fresh air.

Thou art the second great light in the heavens.
Thou art the first great son of Amen,
The beautiful youth who makest himself young
In Thebes, in the form of Ra, son of Nubit.

Thou art a child in the morning, an old man in the evening,
a youth in the beginning of the year
who cometh as a child after he becometh infirm,
who reneweth his births like the disk.

Thou art the Great God, the Lord of Heaven,
Lord of Gods, Khonsu -Nefer -Hetep -Tehuti,
Lord of Annu, Lord of rest, Chief Mabi,
 Peace, peace, O Gracious One,
Who art peace, and who love peace.

Thou art the Great God, Khonsu,
the Mighty, who cometh forth from Nu.

Thou art the sun at sunrise and the new -moon.

Thou art Khonsu the chronographer,
who holdest the stylus in thy right hand.

Thou hast triumphed over the two great powers of darkness.

Thou art Khonsu -Nefer -Hetep
who hast absolute power over all evil spirits
which infest the earth, air, sea, and sky.

Protect us from pain, sickness, and disease.

Protect us from decay, madness, and death.

We invoke thee.

Show us thy Wisdom.

Thou makest the plants to grow and the fruit to ripen,
 and animals to conceive.

Thou whom the Gods adore.

Thou art the God of love whom men and women adore.

Thou art healer and powerful in Magickal Power!
Who drivest out demons who make men and women ill.

Protect us!

Accept our offerings, O Great moon -God Khonsu,
 who lives forever.
